Mock ups

Just added my Alan Fletcher type quickly to my mock ups to stick into my project, to help me decide which typeface to use for the line up. I want some kind of handwritten looking type like I've drawn roughly. But this is just what I posted before but with my Lounge type.

This isn't my favourite of my cut out types, but it's just to give me an idea. Obviously there needs to be colour changes, especially the blue on the second poster because it blends in so much with the sky.

Oz travelling

So I bought my huge bag for Oz the other day, absolutely massive but still don't know how I'm going to fit everything in it, and not fall over whilst carrying it. I got it from Trespass because they were having a sale and it was only £40, which is really good for a type of bag like that. And this is what it looks like. It's 66 litres which is huge, with loads of pockets and zips and stuff.

And just incase I don't look cool enough lugging that around I got a bum bag as well haha. Thought It would be kind of handy if I needed something like my phone, keys, passport, that I can get to without having to take the backpack off and searching around for it in there. Would be much more secure than sticking stuff in one of the side pockets. BUT it also turns into a backpack! Which is kind of cool as far as bum bags go. And this one has an 18 litre capacity. Plus I got it for about £7 because of buying the bigger bag which is good :)

This is only very rough, but this is the kind of style that I want my posters in. I went up to a sheep farm right in the middle of the country yesterday and took loads of really nice photos.

I want to have the main image centred, some sky ideally for the festival name and I can fit the line-up in underneath. I'd then do my illustration probably around the main image.

Carrying on the Alice in Wonderland idea with the tea theme, I've been taking loads of photos of a teacup in farm and festival-like scenes. I have quite a few in some flowers but I really like the one below of the tree stump.

Again it's just a rough mock up but I think I'd do it something like this with little illustrations all around the bottom.

I like the sheep and the teacup ideas though so maybe I can combine them? Photoshop some ideas together? I just need to make sure I leave enough room for the type if I'm going to incorporate more imagery.

FMP

Lounge on the Farm is a really relaxed environment, with sofas all over the place and people drinking cups of tea. These kind of things are what set Lounge apart from other festivals and I wanted to use this. Rob gave me the idea that if I focussed on the tea i could create some kind of Alice in Wonderland style tea party which I think could work really really well.

Oz update

So we booked our work and play package for £220, it covers getting picked up from the airport and taken to our hostel - Coffee Palace! (where we'll stay for 2 nights, including breakfast) bank account, tax number, mobile sim, 12 month job club membership and comprehensive work and travel pack. AND, we get a free Neighbours tour!

I think we're going to go for the Greyhound coach passes to travel round, but we're going to buy all the different bits and pieces separately because we need to wait to get paid each time. The coaches are a lot more flexible than the train so I think that's the better idea, reckon we'll buy that one next time we go to see the travel agent :)

Checklist

So with Easter coming up in a couple of weeks I'm definitely going to go back over my projects and boost my grades up. I want to get everything to a merit first before I try distinctions, although if I get really into a project I could try for the distinction then and get it all done at once.

I need to work on Unit 2 MTP, but I'm going to be doing that in this project with experimentation for my outcomes so I can mark that against this unit. So I also need to work on computers in art and design, image manipulation and design for advertising. Desktop Publishing Computer Applications and Typographic Design are still at a full pass but hopefully once i get my mark back for the type project they'll be boosted up anyway.
