Bibliotheque - HND Graphics

Just went and had a look at the HND end of year show. Had some pretty nice stuff, but it hadn't all been put up yet. The logo for the show itself was fairly nice, this is one of the flyers that I picked up.

And these are some of the pieces that were up. I like the woodchip boards used, we might use these for our show which would be good as the work shows up really nicely on them :)

The end of FMP

Well I'm pretty happy about my FMP being all done and finished. I did enjoy it, was easily my favourite project but it's a nice relief to have it all handed in.

I think it went really well, very happy with my outcomes and was chuffed that I had the opportunity to show the actual organisers of Lounge my work. They seemed genuinely impressed with it which was a great confidence booster, so now I'm just going to adjust my ideas slightly for a poster competition they are running.

And then just generally looking forward to going to the festival this year :)

FMP coming to an end

So here's Lounge's flyer for this year, and below my own that I have been working on in my Alice in Wonderland theme.

Front.
Reverse.

Am pretty pleased with how these have turned out, it's just nice to see all my photography and drawing brought together.

The Walking Dead

Just watched the last episode of The Walking Dead, was such a good series. I just really really want to know what happens now but the second season won't air in the UK for like another year now. This is the poster for it, I really like the photo, and the scary looking type makes you look into the photo more and realise how eerie the scene is.

You should totally watch it on 4OD!

Fight for Your Right

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Beastie Boys' Fight for Your Right video release, Adam Yauch directed and wrote this short film titled Fight for Your Right Revisited. The guys are played by Seth RogenElijah Wood and Danny McBride, getting up to their usual drunken antics. Then meet their future selves coming out of a DeLorean, Back to the Future style, and have a dance battle with future Beasties John C. ReillyWill Ferrell and Jack Black.

It's such a cool video, I love the way its filmed, I just wish it was a full length movie! It features so many famous people, only appearing for a couple of seconds. Then right at the end the present and future Beastie Boys are arrested by the police - played by the actual Beastie Boys themselves! So so good

Update

Oh also this is how my first poster is looking so far:

Light painting

Been researching into light painting today as my posters now include neon drawings. The first known photographer to use this was Man Ray in a series called Space Writing. It was only a couple of years ago that a photographer discovered Ray's signature was hidden in one of his doodles - nearly  74 years later.

I've also found a light painting videod that won the Best Animated Music Video in 2010 at the St Kilda Film Festival, and was shortlisted for YouTube Play 2010 which is where I first saw it as there were some really good videos for that.

It's called Lucky, by All India Radio and was animated by Australian company OH YEAH WOW. The team painted the air with glow-sticks to create each frame for entire sequences. It is so so good you can watch it here.
